Our Story
From a life embedded in the corporate world, it was time for a change. As a lover and home roaster of coffee, Andrew Bennett (founder, process geek and maker). began a quest to transform the way people experience chocolate. Inspired by the potential for cacao’s next wave of evolution, he envisioned a brand that would not only create exceptional chocolate but also educate and engage consumers.
It all began with a trip to a local specialty coffee roaster in 2023. As coffee enters a new wave of innovation, new fermentation methods are bringing out flavour notes unheard of to the average coffee consumer. Suddenly, a curious idea arose in Andrew’s mind. “Can chocolate become this beautiful and intimate experience of flavours and aromas that others embrace in such a way as with a fine wine or an aged bottle of whisky?”
Within a month, Andrew was booked on a plane trip to Belize, touring all corners of the country to seek out cacao plantations for a chance to bring these flavours back home. From Belize, to Ecuador, to meeting makers, farmers and world leaders of Chocolate at festivals around the world, the vision was accomplished – and Cacaoworks was born!
